Kapten Timnas Malaysia , Baddrol Bakhtiar Ternyata orang Batak ...

Posted: 18 Jun 2012 07:07 AM PDT

Kapten Timnas Malaysia, Baddrol Bakhtiar, menjadi penentu kemenangan negeri jiran itu dalam pertandingan melawan Timnas Indonesia di partai final Senin malam (21/11). Ternyata, Baddrol adalah keturunan Mandailing, subsuku Batak dari Tapanuli Selatan, Sumatera Utara.

Dalam drama adu pinalti setelah kedua Timnas bertanding melewati babak perpanjangan waktu dengan skor 1-1, Baddrol dipasang pelatih Ong Kim Swee menjadi algojo terakhir. Ketika itu kedudukan adu pinalti 3-3. Dua pemain Indonesia, Gunawan DC dan Ferdinand Sinaga, gagal menjebol gawang Malaysia yang dikawal Khairul Fahmi Che Mat. Adapun tendangan seorang pemain Malaysia, Fakhri, telah dijinakkan kiper Indonesia, Kurnia Meiga.

Baddrol hampir mengalami nasib serupa Fakhri.

Menurut Ketua Masyarakat Mandailing Malaysia, Ramli Abdul Karim Hasibuan, Baddrol Bakhtiar pun masih keturunan Mandailing.

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 07:04 PM PDT

New Sabah Times
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah nicked a narrow 1-0 win over relegation-threatened rivals Kedah to give them a brief respite in their fight for Super League survival. The victory also saw them end their five-match losing run. Sabah, who failed to find the net in their last three outings, saw nippy striker Juffry Omopor score the solitary goal seven minutes after the break, slotting home a cross from second-half substitute Shahrudin Yakup.

It could have been more goals from the home side, as Omopor's goal seemed to spur them into action, but they were denied by poor finishing. The first half was a drab affair as both teams failed to bring any flair into the game with both teams creating one chance each at each other's goalmouths.

It was Sabah who had the first half chance, when Zainizam Marjan sent a superb cross that found Hendrik Helmke at the heart of the Kedah goalmouth, but only to see Hendrik's soft attempt cleared by the Kedah keeper, Abd Hadi Abd Hamid. At the other end, Baddrol Bakhtiar saw his attempt go wide.

The second half also started on a slow note until Juffry broke the deadlock. After netting the first, he could have scored his second, but unfortunately, this time, he saw his header off a cross from K. Thanaraj sail above the crossbar. Not long after, Kedah could have found the equaliser, but fortunately for Sabah the hardworking youngster Zul Mansshah Aling blocked an attempt from a Kedah player.

Late on, Zainizam Marjan saw his attempt hit the goalpost. With the win, Sabah moved out from the relegation zone, as they leapfrogged Kedah from the 12th spot. They stay ahead of Kedah on 22 points while Kedah are in 13th placing on 21 points. Sabah take on Kuala Lumpur at home on June 30 in their next game at the Likas Stadium.

Joining the experienced campaigners are newcomers Ahmed Fahmie of Tampines Rovers and LionsXII goalkeeper Hyrulnizam Juma'at. While Hyrulnizam has been part of the recent squads, he has not started an 'A' international match.

Expected to start against Hong Kong, 'Ah Lau' responded, "Of course I feel confident. And this is a different level game, so I have to be much more focused. Being an international match, it's definitely different from what we have been playing and I think it will test my ability level too. It's a big test but I'm up for it."

LionsXII held to 3-3 draw by spirited Kedah at Jalan Besar Stadium ...

Posted: 12 May 2012 11:05 AM PDT

Fans were treated at to a goal feast at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday evening as Kedah held the LionsXII to an exciting 3-3 draw with some extravagant football on showcase.

Shahril Ishak gave LionsXII the lead in the ninth minute after a well worked throw in by Madhu Mohana which was knocked onto his patch by the towering Baihakki Khaizan. However Shahril Ishak suffered what looked like a serious shoulder injury after landing awkwardly as he converted his 10th league goal of the Malaysia Super League season. Khyril Muhymeen equalised for the Hijau Kunings in the 21st minute after he planted a neat header home off a cross by Baddrol Bakhtiar.

Substitute Sufian Anuar restored LionsXII's lead with a beautifully taken header, off a perfectly weighted ball by Juma'at Jantan in the 29th minute sending the 7,328 strong crowd at the Jalan Besar Stadium on their feet, cheering in delight.

Juma'at Jantan was then taken off as the Singapore international went weak after vomiting on the pitch. What may be a case of suspected food poisoning have also affected Firdaus Kasman. Both players were sent to the hospital for further review.

LionsXII went into the break with the one goal lead and doubled their advantage when stand in skipper Baihakki Khaizan headed Shahdan Sulaiman's free kick into te roof of the net, sending the Jalan Besar faithful into frenzy.

Despite the setback, Kedah played some beautiful football with Andel Fatah Safi orchestrating from the middle of the park. In the 62nd minute, Kedah charged down a shot by Raihan Rahman, with Fatah leading a counter attack. A cross field through ball found Amar Rohidan unmarked on the left, and the midfielder smashed a lovely thunderbolt into the top right hand corner of the net leaving Izwan Mahbud rooted to the ground.

LionsXII had barely recovered from the goal when Kedah equalised through Vedran Gerc. Receiving the ball 30 yards from goal, the LionsXII backline did not close in on him quick enough and Gerc accepted the invitation to shoot, letting fly a pile-driver that found the bottom corner of Izwan Mahbud's goal. Two goals in the space of four minutes left the LionsXII stunned as they roamed forward in numbers, in search of a winner.

Shaiful Esah came closest to that as his 40 yard freekick almost found its way into goal with Helmi Eliza Elias gapsing for thin air. Kedah breathe a sigh of relieve as the ball went narrowly wide off the upright.

LionsXII were clearly missing their own engine room in Hariss Harun who is still out due to a shoulder injury. Compunded by the exit of Juma'at and Shahril early in the game, the LionsXII had to rely on set pieces in their bid to penetrate the Kedah defense.

Kedah on the other hand, did not look a bit like a team languishing in relegation zone as they matched LIonsXII tit for tat in all departments. The result handed Kelantan the advantage after their three nil win in Petaling Jaya tonight as they slashed the lead to three points at the top of the table, having played four games less.

Sundram face a defensive crisis as he will be missing out on Baihakki Khaizan, Sevki Sha'ban and Madhu Mohana through suspension. With Safuwan Baharudin out injured, Abdil Qaiyyim remains the only natural centre back that Sundram can call on for the next game against Kuala Lumpur. Hariss Harun has not been cleared till date and it remains to be seen who will fill in at the heart of defence on Tuesday evening.

LIONSXII stutter in thriller with Kedah | World News: the latest local ...

Posted: 12 May 2012 04:17 AM PDT

Malaysia Super League leaders LIONSXII's title hopes took another blow on Saturday as they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Kedah.

By Gabriel Tan at the Jalan Besar Stadium

Shahril Ishak put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute when he scored from close range but he immediately had to be substituted after picking up a knock in the process and 11 minutes later, Khyril Muhymeen glanced home a header to level the scores.

Shahril's replacement, Sufian Anuar, then nodded the LIONSXII back in front in the 29th minute before centre-back Baihakki Khaizan added a third three minutes before the hour mark to give the hosts a comfortable lead.

However, Amar Rohidan and Vedran Gerc both scored long-range strikes in quick succession just after the hour mark to steal a share of the spoils for Wan Jamak Wan Hassan's charges.

Entering Saturday's game with only a five-point lead over second-placed Kelantan but having played four games more, V. Sundramoorthy's men were aware that nothing less than a win over Kedah would benefit their ailing title prospects.

Ten minutes in, the LIONSXII got off to a perfect start when a long throw from Madhu Mohana was flicked on by Baihakki towards the far post, straight into the path of Shahril who poked home at full stretch from two yards out to give his side the lead.

However, the effort took its toll on the LIONSXII skipper as he was unable to continue after reportedly dislocating his shoulder, and aware that their opponents had just lost their talisman, Kedah started to grow in confidence and carved out a good opening in the 20th minute. Sloppy play from Isa Halim allowed Khyril to steal in down the left and advance into the box, although the recovering Baihakki did well to nip the ball away before the 24-year-old could get a shot away.

Nonetheless, there was to be no denying the Kedah forward a minute later when he was picked out in the box by an excellent cross from Baddrol Bakhtiar and flicked a header into the bottom corner.

Given their height advantage, the LIONSXII were looking very dangerous from set-pieces; with Baihakki and Madhu giving the Hijau-Kuning backline all sorts of problems whenever they went forward. However, it was one of their smaller players that helped them regain the lead a minute before the half-hour mark.

Picking up the ball on the right, Juma'at Jantan did extremely well to beat his man before whipping a good cross into the box. Sufian, who is known for his aerial prowess despite his diminutive frame, made a darting run towards the near post and got in front of his marker before heading the ball past Helmi Eliza Elias to put the hosts back in front.

Nine minutes later, the 24-year-old almost turned provider when he played a fantastic crossfield ball straight to Khairul Amri, who cleverly made his way past an opponent but just failed to get the ball out from under his feet as he bore down on goal.

Four minutes after the break, the LIONSXII had another glorious chance to grab a third when Khairul Nizam played a delicate through-ball in between two defenders, only to see the onrushing Yasir Hanapi prod his shot wide with only Helmi to beat.

A minute later, Kedah were unlucky not to pull level when Abdelfatah Safi cleverly skipped past a couple of challenges before curling a shot that came smashing off the crossbar.

Despite that close shave, the LIONSXII continued to look the more dominant of the two sides, and duly went further ahead in the 57th minute when Shahdan Sulaiman swung in a terrific freekick straight to Baihakki, who left Helmi with no chance with a powerful header into the top corner.

However, just as the LIONSXII looked to have put themselves in a commanding position, the hosts hit back five minutes later when Gerc, who had been anonymous up till that point, broke down the left from a quick counter-attack before laying the ball off to an unmarked Amar, who rifled in a shot from the edge of the area.

Three minutes later, the scores were level again after Gerc picked up the ball from 25 yards out and unleashed a ferocious effort that flew straight into the bottom corner, beyond the despairing dive of Izwan Mahbud.

Stunned at having thrown away a lead twice, the LIONSXII started to push forward in search of a winner and wasted a good chance in the 73rd minute when no one was on hand to convert a dangerous cross by Shaiful Esah, after the left-back had done well to skip past his opponent on the left.

But despite the vociferous home crowd urging the LIONSXII on, it was Kedah who came closest to grabbing a winner in the dying stages of the game. First, Amar swung in a good cross for Gerc, who was about to pull the trigger when the alert Madhu took the ball of his toes, before Safi curled a shot from the edge of the box that forced Izwan into a flying save.

With Kelantan winning 3-0 at Felda United, the LIONSXII are now only three points clear of their title rivals and have still played four games more, meaning their place at the top of the table is looking increasingly vulnerable.

LIONSXII: Izwan Mahbud, Madhu Mohana, Baikhakki Khaizan, Sevki Sha'ban, Shaiful Esah, Juma'at Jantan (Yasir Hanapi 37′), Isa Halim, Shahdan Sulaiman, Shahril Ishak (Sufian Anuar 13′), Khairul Amri (Raihan Rahman 54′), Khairul Nizam.

Kedah: Helmi Eliza Elias, Fazliata Taib, Fauzi Nan, Khairul Helmi Johari, V. Thirumurugan, Sabre Mat Abu, Amar Rohidan, Baddrol Bakhtiar, Abdelfatah Safi, Khyril Muhymeen, Vedran Gerc.

Attendance: 7,328

Kapten Timnas Malaysia , Baddrol Bakhtiar Ternyata orang Batak ...

Posted: 18 Jun 2012 07:07 AM PDT

Kapten Timnas Malaysia, Baddrol Bakhtiar, menjadi penentu kemenangan negeri jiran itu dalam pertandingan melawan Timnas Indonesia di partai final Senin malam (21/11). Ternyata, Baddrol adalah keturunan Mandailing, subsuku Batak dari Tapanuli Selatan, Sumatera Utara.

Dalam drama adu pinalti setelah kedua Timnas bertanding melewati babak perpanjangan waktu dengan skor 1-1, Baddrol dipasang pelatih Ong Kim Swee menjadi algojo terakhir. Ketika itu kedudukan adu pinalti 3-3. Dua pemain Indonesia, Gunawan DC dan Ferdinand Sinaga, gagal menjebol gawang Malaysia yang dikawal Khairul Fahmi Che Mat. Adapun tendangan seorang pemain Malaysia, Fakhri, telah dijinakkan kiper Indonesia, Kurnia Meiga.

Baddrol hampir mengalami nasib serupa Fakhri.

Menurut Ketua Masyarakat Mandailing Malaysia, Ramli Abdul Karim Hasibuan, Baddrol Bakhtiar pun masih keturunan Mandailing.
